About

Phillip Brown

Starting at an early age, Phillip obtained a passion in the building profession. His uncle was the store manager of a Lowe’s® Home Improvement store. He remembers going to the store early on Saturday mornings with his dad and was mesmerized by the trucks, supplies, builders, and their stories. When his uncle retired from Lowe’s® Home Improvement, he opened his own local lumber yard where Phillip began working every Saturday loading and unloading trucks and assisting customers in the warehouse. After Phillip’s time serving in the Marine Corp, he began his career at Lowe’s® Home Improvement working in the warehouse and shortly thereafter became the warehouse manager.

Fast forward five years, Phillip started his own lawn and landscaping business with only one employee and one contract to later grow the business to an average of 10 employees and 50 – 60 contracts with annual sales exceeding a million dollars. While owning his business, he became a job superintendent with Spring Lakes Builders overseeing many of the day-to-day operations primarily coordinating the infrastructure and development of new roads and new home construction. For the last several years, before he became part owner of George Owen Construction LLC and Eagle Point Log Homes, Phillip worked at Lowe’s® Home Improvement in outside sales selling decks, fences, gutters, siding, roofs, and windows.

Danny Owen

My humble beginnings in carpentry started out helping my father and brother as a young teen. I carried lumber and finished nailing floors and trim they had tacked on for me to complete. Throughout my teenage years my dad always offered my help to any business owner in our church to help them with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and basically anything that needed to be done. I gained a wide array of knowledge in every aspect of building and construction. In addition, my dad, being the Pastor, thought we should do everything in the construction of new churches. This included laying block, installing septic systems, and insulating walls. He would have a project every summer that included tearing down a structure and saving the lumber for our next project.

Soon after I graduated high school, I started George Owen Construction. The company started out with roofing projects, installing decks, framing, trimming, and remodeling houses until I obtained my Class A Construction License to start building new construction homes.

We completed one to two spec houses a year. By viewing our already completed spec homes, the surrounding community became acquainted with our reputation and standards for building beautiful homes that are based on quality and craftsmanship. Ultimately, we started building turn-key and custom projects.
